Elke Thonnes
A contour, a curve - the lie of the land
Elke Thonnes, a native of Cologne, Germany, studied at the Hochschule fur bildende Kunste, Kassel, before moving to Ireland and graduating from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin in 1991.
She has exhibited widely since then in various group and solo exhibitions in Germany and Ireland. She has participated in the Boyle Arts Festival, Claremorris Open Exhibition, Iontas Sligo, Eigse Carlow and the Kilkenny Arts Festival.
Elke currently lives in Dublin where she is painting in her studio as well as printmaking in the Axis Art Centre and Graphic Studio, Dublin
