Emily Ketteringham

Find, make

Emily’s screenprints are all about layering and precision.  She enjoys exploring the space between control and chance – mixing very precise colours but then embracing the new colours that are created when the translucent inks overlap on the paper.

This series of circular prints examine the importance of colour within memory.  They are about being in the moment, drinking in the colour of a landscape, letting the colour be all there is. The prints tell of trying to hold onto memories of places that have made an impact on us, either visually, emotionally, or both.

Each print is inspired by a specific place that Emily has visited - her intention is that the colours and abstract shapes will evoke memories of different places for each viewer.
