Jenny Lock - Linear expression
The coast with its constantly changing light and moods, its rich and varied textures and forms continues to remain a source of inspiration for Jenny.
Her natural instinct is to depict her surroundings in abstract form. She approaches the canvas intuitively working from memory, "letting things happen", allowing herself no preconceived ideas. Jenny embraces and enjoys playing with the notion of space, colour, tone and texture, pushing the paint around the canvas, adding and eliminating, layering, scratching and drawing into the paint: in effect allowing herself the freedom to lose herself in the process.
