Unearthed 2023

Based in the South of England, I specialise in creating micro worlds in globes, tobacco tins and cloches.

I attempt to create emotion through re-imagined micro-landscapes in which contemporary figures are dwarfed by vast landscapes of craggy moss covered rocks, sandy cliff edges, water gullies, sparse vegetation and tiny alpine flowers. They are reminiscent of the work by well known Victorian watercolorists and poets.

Positioned under glass domes, in old rusted tobacco tins and Victorian poetry books, I have tried to modernise the charm of curiosities found in a 19th Century museum collection, whilst also creating a haunting reminder of the depleting natural resources of the modern world.
