Lou Power is a London-based ceramic artist making one-off, hand-built sculptural wall pieces and vessels. She trained at Cardiff Art College nearly thirty years ago and returned to clay in 2023, finally answering a long-standing call to the material.

​

Architecture, light and space shape everything she makes. Her wall pieces are assembled from sections of varying depth, each one carved, angled or textured, so that light and shadow play across the surface. She works in a pared-back palette of whites and often leaves areas unglazed, letting the natural clay body show through.

​

Her garden studio is a quiet, solitary place, close to nature, and that calm is integral to the making. Each piece is a search for balance and stillness, inviting a slower way of looking at form, surface and the space between.
