Susan Cutts

constructed 2025

Layers of complex fragility are the substance of our structure which when exposed betray our vulnerabilities.

Susan uses her own handmade paper to create sculptures. She works from raw fibre using traditional European equipment and techniques. The process of making the paper is vitally important to the work and, as in Substance, using layers of fibrous sheets of paper enables her to work without the use of glue, stitching, additives or armatures, ensuring the longevity of the piece.

A Member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and the International Association of Hand Papermakers and Artists. Studied Constructed Textiles at the London College of Furniture and Theatrical Corsetry at the London College of Fashion.
